Wedding at The Olana | Claire + Sanjiv

The couple:

Claire and Sanjiv’s The Olana Wedding was elegant and timeless on a warm summer day. 

Sanjiv and Claire had created a friendship as they worked together, and eventually, the two realized a deeper connection. They went to Aruba for a vacation, and Sanjiv asked her to marry him! 

The Wedding Day:

Once I arrived at the Hickory Creek wedding venue, Claire had the prettiest details for me to photograph. Claire wore her great-grandmother’s vintage watch, which was very special. It was the sweetest moment for her when her mother helped her get into her wedding gown! A unique detail about Claire’s dress is the sleeves were detachable. She created two different looks in minutes, keeping the sleeves on until just before the reception. 

We appreciated the gorgeous indoor space for Claire and Sanjiv’s The Olana Photos. I kept them inside before the ceremony so that neither one had any touch-ups before the ceremony. 

During their ceremony, Sanjiv gifted Claire a mangala sutra. This gift symbolizes that they are bound in matrimony and indicates that she is now married. As usual, the sultry Texas heat appeared. The officiant helped everyone keep their minds off the heat by making everyone laugh. It was lovely seeing these two become a married couple!

The wedding reception moved inside The Olana Hickory Creek, welcoming everyone to a seated dinner. One of the two wedding cakes had a basketball design for Sanjiv’s groom’s cake, which was really cool. All guests enjoyed a fun evening with the newlyweds, ending the night with a sparkler exit to send them off as a married couple. 

One of the essential parts of being a DFW wedding photographer is to make all of my couples comfortable in front of my camera. These two didn’t love being the center of attention on their wedding day, but with my guidance and reassurance, I was able to make them feel comfortable and beautiful!
