Having the pleasure to be a part of Karen + Luis’ wedding journey was a fun one! These two are total opposites from one another but they balance each other out so perfectly. Karen was outgoing and lively, whereas Luis was more conservative and laid-back. There was never a dull moment with these two and I can attest, check out their engagement session here.
I knew that Karen + Luis’ wedding day was going to be a very classic and romantic wedding when I saw Karen’s dress during our bridal portraits. You can also check out how beautiful her bridal portraits were, here.
It was important to Karen and Luis that they somehow incorporated the roots of their culture into their wedding.
Karen is Chinese/Vietnamese and on the day of the wedding, a traditional tea ceremony was held at her parent’s home. Luis arrived with gifts and blessings to give to Karen’s side of the family, but before doing so, he had to go through a series of fun games in order to see his bride from the bridesmaids. This portion of the afternoon was such a fun sight to see and capture! You’ll see the pictures below in just a few.
I also loved the Chi Pao (traditional Chinese dress) Karen wore during the tea ceremony. She seriously looks amazing in anything!
Luis is Mexican and food plays an important part in his culture. Dinner was Mexican food and just let me tell you, it was AMAZING! They had a soloist Mariachi man sing throughout dinner as entertainment, that was also very cool!
Throughout the reception, paletas which is a Mexican frozen treat that is filled with fruits was served as a late night snack dessert, it was very delicious.
Their wedding was truly a hit and these two really took the time to incorporate their cultures into one eventful wedding day. Though I am very horrible at blogging weddings I’ve had a pleasure being a part of, I can’t believe it took me one year to share their wedding day.
Happy one year anniversary Karen + Luis!
I’m finally sharing your images lol <3
